Arkansas Dream Center

Who’s Leading? Drew Davis, an accountant by trade who was working for New Life Church in Little Rock, founded the Arkansas Dream Center after feeling called to form an outreach ministry. In the summer of 2009, he packed a few tools into a pickup truck and headed into the community looking for opportunities to help people.

What’s It All About? Davis started just by knocking on doors and asking whomever answered if they were in need of any kind of help. From this humble offer, the ministry has grown to provide afterschool programming and mentoring for kids, and has developed one of the state’s largest feeding organizations focused on children. It also owns and operates Restoration Home, a safe place for women looking for a fresh start.

When Can I Attend? In addition to its feeding and afterschool programs, Arkansas Dream Center provides Project Prevention, targeting families at risk of losing their children to foster care; Adopt-A-Block community connection events; and Guys Night/Girls Night events open to kids in the seventh to 12th grades. These just scratch the surface of the many ways Arkansas Dream Center reaches into the community to provide help and hope to those who need it most.

Why Is It Important? The Dream Center believes every individual has a right to chase their God-given dream for happiness and fulfillment in their life. It works to remove the barriers that hinder them from attaining that dream, whether it’s hunger, bad choices or other sticking points in life.

How Can I Help? The Dream Center has grown its ministry rapidly and with it, the need for caring volunteers and partner organizations to help accomplish its mission in the community. Tutoring and mentoring, cleanup, construction, collecting, organizing, picking up and delivering donations are just a few of the simple, yet critical, roles volunteers can play. While affiliated with New Life Church, Arkansas Dream Center eagerly welcomes volunteers of all faiths and walks of life, and donations are always gratefully accepted.
